A rule proposal limiting how fast offenses can snap the ball has received plenty of criticism from coaches. Arizona’s Rich Rodriguez has been one of the outspoken coaches against the rule, which forces teams to wait 10 seconds on the play clock before they can snap the ball.
And recently, Rodriguez and the Arizona staff took to the video world to continue their criticism of the potential rule change. Check out this video, which features some clips from the movie Speed (we hope you didn’t watch Speed 2 though), as well as Rodriguez getting his point across about the 10-second rule.

Arizona has announced a small tweak to its football uniforms for 2014. The Wildcats used a gradient look on their numbers last season but will switch to a solid color in 2014.
The gradient numbers are an interesting look for jerseys, but the solid color is easier to identify.
Here’s a look at the updated jerseys for 2014:

Arizona running back Ka’Deem Carey has announced his intention to enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
Carey was one of the top running backs in the nation over the last two years, rushing for 1,885 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2013. His numbers were even better as a sophomore in 2012, recording 1,929 yards and 23 scores on 303 attempts.
After recording over 300 rushing attempts in back-to-back seasons, Carey has plenty of mileage on his legs and moving to the NFL is the right move.
Carey could be the first running back selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota entered Saturday’s game against Arizona with a streak of 353 passes without an interception. However, on his first pass against the Wildcats, Mariota was picked off, which was the start of a bad day for the Ducks.
Mariota’s pass was deflected off the receiver’s hands, which was knocked back into the field of play by Shaquille Richardson. After Richardson knocked the ball back into the field, linebacker Scooby Wright made the catch to give Arizona possession.

Former Texas quarterback Connor Brewer has picked his next home. The redshirt freshman left Austin this summer and committed to play for Arizona and coach Rich Rodriguez on Monday night.
Brewer’s decision to transfer to Arizona comes as no surprise, as he played his high school ball in Chaparral, which is just outside of Tucson. Brewer was rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals and ranked as the No. 9 quarterback prospect in the 2012 signing class by Athlon Sports.
Brewer isn’t a prototypical Rich Rodriguez quarterback, as he lacks the dynamic mobility of a Pat White or Denard Robinson. However, Brewer isn’t a statue in the pocket and certainly has the talent to be an effective quarterback for Arizona.
With Brewer’s decision to transfer to Arizona, the Wildcats are loaded with talent at the quarterback position. Former USC signal-caller Jesse Scroggins arrived on campus in the spring, and true freshman Anu Solomon is expected to push for the starting spot this fall. Senior B.J. Denker is expected to start, but Solomon and Scroggins will be in the mix.
It’s never a bad thing to have a couple of quarterbacks on the roster. Considering how difficult this position is to evaluate on the recruiting trail or the need to have a quality backup, Arizona’s decision to take Brewer in a transfer is one that could pay off for Rodriguez and his staff.
