Fantasy Baseball Keepers

There are two major fantasy baseball leagues inside the walls of Athlon Sports. There is a long-running, big boy league with minor league systems, permanent keepers, traded draft picks, compensatory rounds and free agency walk years. The winter meetings for that league will not take place until next Thursday.

So until then, I am completely submerged in the other Athlon Sports fantasy keeper baseball league. Four Athlon employees, one Rivals.com writer, a School of Legends programmer and four of my buddies are involved in the slightly less dorky version.

The names have been changed to protect the innocent. This ain't no mock! This is the real deal.

A keeper is kept in the round he is drafted and waiver wire adds are 15th round keepers. Each team can keep three players no more than two years in a row.

I just thought I would post our keepers, since we just finalized our keeper announcement (in order of draft):

1. Daniel Swinney (School of Legends): Carlos Marmol (9th RD), Heath Bell (20th), Starlin Castro (25th)
2. Nashville Realtor: Troy Tulowitzki (8th), Josh Hamilton (9th), Justin Verlander (14th)
3. Steven Lassan (Athlon Sports): Andrew McCutchen (9th), Nelson Cruz (14th), Clayton Kershaw (16th)
4. David Fox (Rivals.com): Carlos Gonzalez (8th), Josh Johnson (16th), Buster Posey (23rd)
5. Mark Ross (Athlon Sports): Robinson Cano (3rd), Felix Hernandez (8th), Joey Votto (12th)
6. Nashville Banker: Ryan Braun (1st), Adrian Beltre (15th), Jason Heyward (16th)
7. Braden Gall (no explanation needed): A-ROD (3rd), Andre Ethier (9th), Alex Rios (14th)
8. Nashville Healthcare: Joe Mauer (5th), Joakim Soria (10th), Martin Prado (25th)
9. Brian Hochman (Athlon Sports): Albert Pujols (1st), Mike Stanton (15th), Casey McGehee (25th)
10. Nashville Lawyer: Carl Crawford (3rd), Dan Uggla (7th), David Price (17th)

We rock a 6x6 format with OPS and Holds added with an extra OF, MI and CI added to the starting line-up.
