For most of the season, the college basketball power rankings have been fairly consistent at the top: Two or three teams from the Big Ten, a team or two from the state of Florida, maybe Duke and/or Kansas every now and then.

Some of those trends remained true this week with Indiana and Michigan taking the top two spots and Miami sitting at No. 5. But the top four has a few newcomers.

Another week, another Big Ten showdown with national implications.

The most important number of the week may as well be five: As in five overtimes to settle Notre Dame’s win over Louisville in the longest game since UConn and Syracuse played six OTs in the Big East quarterfinals in 2009.

The first 40 minutes crawled along with only 120 points in regulation before Notre Dame walked away with a 104-101 win in the final 25 minutes.
