Belmont (8-5) at Indiana State (8-3)

GAME NOTES: Saturday's game between Indiana State and Belmont will be a rare rematch between non-conference foes from a game earlier this season.

The Bruins overcame a 16-point halftime deficit in Nashville on Nov. 14 to upend the Sycamores, 96-95, behind a 23-point effort from J.J. Mann.

Indiana State has bounced back nicely with victories in seven of its next nine games. Last Saturday, Manny Arop scored 25 points on 9-of-13 efficiency from the field, as Indiana State blew out IUPUI, 81-61, at the Hulman Center. Justin Gant scored 18 points for the Sycamores, who got out to a fast start by shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the first half, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range, and cruised the rest of the way.

Scoring has not been a problem for Indiana State, which has scored 80 or more points six times already this season. Five players are netting at least 9.6 ppg, led by Gant's 13.1 average. Jake Odum is putting up 12.4 ppg, while pacing the club in rebounds (4.2 rpg) and assists (4.9 apg).

The Bruins dropped their third straight game last weekend but put up a fight against the nationally-ranked Kentucky Wildcats. Craig Bradshaw and Drew Windler ended with 22 and 21 points, respectively, in the 93-80 defeat. Belmont led by double digits early on and brought a 43-41 lead into halftime, but Kentucky took control with a 20-9 run after the break. The Wildcats made 26 free throws to Belmont's nine. Mann was limited to nine point on 4-of-15 shooting, including a woeful 1-of-9 showing from behind the arc.

While Mann's shooting has been somewhat suspect this far -- he's shooing just 40 percent from the field -- his high volume has allowed him to pile up 17.0 ppg while also leading the team in assists (41). Bradshaw and Windler are chipping in 13.3 and 12.9 ppg, respectively, with Windler filling the bucket on an effective .574 shooting percentage.

Belmont is making its first trip to Terre Haute since 1955, and given the outcome from November's game, the Sycamores will be looking for revenge.
