Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Will Regan scored a game-high 15 points as the Buffalo Bulls coasted to a 67-46 victory over the Northern Illinois Huskies in a Mid-American Conference bout at Alumni Arena.
Javon McCrea chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds for Buffalo (7-4, 1-0 MAC), which also received 11 points from Shannon Evans. Joshua Freelove chimed in with 10 points for the Bulls as they picked up their third consecutive win. Jarod Oldham handed out five assists to go along with eight points.
Darrell Bowie led the Huskies (6-7, 0-1) with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Both sides struggled in the opening period. NIU was limited to just 17.9 percent shooting from the floor in the first half while the Bulls made only 30 percent of their field goal tries. The Bulls went into the intermission with a 24-20 lead thanks to their 3-of-9 clip from 3-point range.
Buffalo improved to convert 61.9 percent of its field goal attempts and made 12-of-13 shots at the free-throw line in the second half. The Huskies could not keep up as they hit on only 35.7 percent of their shots from the floor including only 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Despite the lopsided loss, NIU enjoyed a 37-33 edge in the rebounding battle. Buffalo outscored the visitors, 24-6, from behind the 3-point line in the contest.
