Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Heath erupted for 28 points and 10 rebounds as the Canisius Golden Griffins posted an 82-67 win over the Saint Peter's Peacocks in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Koessler Center.
Heath knocked down 11-of-17 shots from the floor, including 4-of-6 behind the 3-point line for the Griffs (4-3, 1-0 MAAC) as they won for the third time in the last four outings. Chris Manhertz pitched in with 13 points and six rebounds.
Generating a double-double for the Peacocks (2-5, 0-1) was Marvin Dominique who tallied 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Vic Adams tacked on 13 points off the bench for a team that has lost two in a row.
Canisius knocked down 51.9 percent from the field in the first half and turned the ball over just three times as the team claimed a 37-30 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Golden Griffs again lost possession just three times which meant that shooting only 4-of-15 beyond the arc over the final 20 minutes of action would not keep them from another victory.
While Canisius took great care of the basketball, Saint Peter's was guilty of 13 miscues, which the hosts turned into 18 points.
