Recap: Jacksonville St vs. Morehead State

Jacksonville, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Drew Kelly scored a game-high 19 points to pace the Morehead State Eagles in a 69-67 triumph over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Ohio Valley Conference action at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Angelo Warner tallied 16 points for Morehead State (17-9, 8-3 OVC), which has won four of its last five.

Undra Mitchem netted 13 points for Jacksonville State (10-16, 4-7), which has lost four straight. Grant White, D.J. Felder and Darion Rackley all added 12 points.

At halftime Jacksonville State led, 27-25. The Gamecocks shot at a 40 percent clip in the first half, which was a shade better than Morehead State (.379).

In the second half the Eagles improved to 52.9 percent shooting, while knocking down 24-of-29 from the free-throw line to pull out the victory. The Gamecocks had several chances to force overtime in the final minute, but could not capitalize, including a pair of missed free-throws from Mitchem with a second to play.

Jacksonville State lost despite a 24-5 scoring advantage off of turnovers.
