Manhattan, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Will Spradling scored 17 points on 4-of-9 shooting as the Kansas State Wildcats defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 66-58, in Big 12 Conference play at Bramlage Coliseum.
Nino Williams came off the bench to score 13 points for Kansas State (15-6, 5-3 Big 12), while Wesley Iwundu netted 11 in the win. The victory snaps a two-game Wildcats losing skid.
Jaye Crockett netted 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Texas Tech (10-11, 2-6). Dusty Hannahs chipped in 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting off the bench in the loss. The Red Raiders have lost three straight contests.
Kansas State connected on 48.1 percent of its shots in the first half, taking a 32-20 lead into the locker room at the midway point. Texas Tech shot a dismal 29.2 percent from the floor in the first frame.
The Wildcats' shooting percentage sank to 39.1 in the second period, while the Red Raiders' rose to 37.5 percent. Texas Tech got to within 48-47 midway through the second half. but Kansas State was able to create some space the rest of the way. The Wildcats hit just 3-of-15 from 3-point range in the win.
Kansas State had the edge from the free-throw line, 19-15, and won the turnover battle, 10-9.
