Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Taylor Braun and Marshall Bjorklund each scored 28 points to lead the North Dakota State Bison to a 90-82 victory over the Towson Tigers in a non-conference battle at Bison Sports Arena.
Lawrence Alexander added 19 points for North Dakota State (9-4), which has won seven of its last eight contests.
Jerrelle Benimon finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds for Towson (7-6), while Four McGlynn tacked on 16 points, Mike Burwell tallied 12 and Timajh Parker-Rivera chipped in 11. The Tigers have lost four of their last five.
At the end of the first half the Bison clung to a 35-32 lead by shooting 40.7 percent from the floor and 12-of-15 from the free-throw line. Towson hit on 41.4 percent from the floor but got just five points from the charity stripe.
The Bison were able to pull away in the second half by shooting a scorching 72 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes. The Tigers shot well themselves (.567 FG percentage) but it wasn't enough to keep up with the Bison.
North Dakota State had the edge in points in the paint (42-26) but Towson had a 35-27 advantage on the glass.
