Cape Girardeau, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Stone scored a team-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks ran to a 102-94 victory over the Tennessee State Tigers in Ohio Valley Conference play at the Show Me Center.
Jarekious Bradley netted 23 points and secured nine rebounds for the Redhawks (9-8, 1-3 OVC). Darrian Gray (16 points) shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor, including 4-of-4 from 3-point range, and Antonius Cleveland contributed 14 points. Lucas Nutt recorded a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 10 assists.
Patrick Miller scored a game-high 37 points for the Tigers (2-16, 1-3) on 12- of-21 shooting with seven assists. Jacquan Nobles chipped in 23 points, while M.J. Rhett scored 13 and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double.
Southeast Missouri shot a phenomenal 65.5 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-of-9 from 3-point distance. The Redhawks took a 52-39 lead into the locker rooms at the half. Tennessee State shot 42.3 percent in the first period.
The Redhawks didn't let up at all in the second half, hitting an even 65 percent of their shots. The Tigers came out vastly improved in the second frame, connecting on 52.8 percent of their shots and going 14-of-19 from the free-throw line, but the Redhawks surpassed that total, hitting 20-of-31 from the charity stripe to secure the victory.
The Redhawks got 43 points from their bench, compared to Tennessee State's 15. SEMO won the battle on the boards 36-27 and outscored the Tigers in points off turnovers 22-16.
