Logan, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarred Shaw tallied a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds as the Utah State Aggies made easy work of the Southern Utah Thunderbirds at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, 90-57.
Shaw shot 7-of-9 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line while also blocking a pair of shots for Utah State (2-0). Spencer Butterfield netted 11 points, while TeNale Roland contributed 10 points and four assists.
For Southern Utah (1-1), Trey Kennedy led the way with 11 points, while Cal Hanks came off the bench to score 10 points.
Utah State shot a red-hot 60 percent from the field in the first half, while Southern Utah couldn't buy a bucket at just 25.9 percent. The Aggies took a convincing 46-26 lead at the break.
The Aggies' continued to shoot well from the field over the final 20 minutes (.565) as they cruised to the 33-point win.
Utah State grabbed twice as many rebounds as Southern Utah (44-22) and outscored the Thunderbirds in the paint, 32-10.
