Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Alabama A&M and North Carolina A&T will square off in the 10th annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Aug. 31 - the first appearance for both programs in a game that matches the two historically black FCS conferences.
The game will be played at the Florida Citrus Bowl and televised on an ESPN network.
SWAC representative Alabama A&M, coming off a 4-8 season, will be making its debut under new coach James Spady. MEAC representative North Carolina A&T finished 7-4 under coach Rod Broadway this past season.
MEAC teams hold a 7-2 lead in the Challenge, including Florida A&M's 27-10 win over Mississippi Valley State this past season.
