The Owls will have a new coach in 2014.

FAU Coach Carl Pelini Resigns

FAU coach Carl Pelini resigned on Wednesday, ending his tenure with the Owls. In two years with FAU, Pelini had a 5-15 record.

Considering he had no ties to the area, Pelini was a strange fit at FAU and never seemed to be a good fit for the program.

One possible name for FAU is former FIU coach Mario Cristobal, who is currently serving as Alabama's offensive line coach. Cincinnati assistant Eddie Gran is another possibility for the Owls.

Assistant coach/offensive coordinator Brian Wright is expected to serve as the interim coach.
