Annapolis, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Keenan Reynolds accounted for five total touchdowns as the Navy Midshipmen earned a 42-28 victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Reynolds rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns and also had 59 yards and a touchdown on 4-of-8 passing for Navy (5-4). Quinton Singleton added 93 yards and a score on 15 carries.
Sean Schroeder threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns on 29-of-33 passing but it was not enough for Hawaii (0-9), which has lost 12-straight games on the road. Clark Evans had nine receptions for 62 yards and two touchdowns and Keith Kirkwood registered 78 yards and a score on four receptions. Joey Iosefa picked up 191 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries.
A rare passing touchdown got Navy out to a 7-0 lead as Reynolds threw a 26- yard scoring strike to Geoffrey Whiteside.
It would not be until midway through the second quarter that Hawaii would respond, as a 40-yard touchdown pass from Schroeder to Kirkwood tied the game at 7-7 with just over six minutes to play in the first half.
Reynolds orchestrated a quick scoring drive to put the Midshipmen back on top as he scored on a one-yard touchdown rush less than three minutes later.
Hawaii would manage to answer before the break as Schroeder threw an eight- yard touchdown pass to Evans in the final minutes of the first half.
Navy reclaimed the lead early in the second half as Singleton scored a touchdown on a 12-yard run.
The Midshipmen added onto their lead with a six-yard touchdown run from Reynolds.
A six-yard touchdown run from Iosefa early in the fourth quarter pulled the Rainbow Warriors to within a touchdown.
Navy answered quickly as Reynolds scored on a 67-yard touchdown run on the second play of the Midshipmen's ensuing drive.
Evans brought in his second touchdown reception, a six-yard pass from Schroeder later in the period but Reynolds slammed the door shut with a 21- yard touchdown run that sealed the victory for the Midshipmen.
