Southwick then threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Burks late in the second quarter to extend the Broncos' lead to 24-7.

With 2:29 left in the third quarter, Goodale pushed Boise State to a 34-10 lead with a 39-yard field goal.
Southwick's second interception in the game put points on the board for the Aggies as Nevin Lawson returned an interception off the Boise State signal caller 65 yards for a touchdown. The Aggies were unsuccessful on a two-point conversion attempt after the score. Travis Van Leeuwen caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Garretson with 20 seconds to play but it was not enough for the Aggies.
