The Dominican Republic's record in the World Baseball Classic, which concluded on Tuesday night with the Dominican team defeating Puerto Rico 3-0 in the championship game. The Dominican team became the first to go through the tournament, which began on March 2 with 16 different countries participating, undefeated. A reported 885,212 fans attended WBC games, including 96,913 for the three-game championship round held at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The championship game alone was available on television to 440 million households worldwide in 200 countries and territories and was broadcast in 15 languages.
