Antigua, Guatemala (SportsNetwork.com) - Armando Favela birdied his final hole Sunday to close out a 1-under 71 and win the Stella Artois Open by a stroke.
Favela earned his first career PGA Tour Latinoamerica title at 14-under-par 274.
Nelson Ledesma (66) finished in second place at La Reunion Golf Resort at 13- under, while William Kropp (68), Chris Gilman (68), Martin Trainer (71) and Rafael Echenique (73) shared third at minus-12.
David Vanegas (67) and Mauricio Azcue (70) tied for seventh at 11-under 277.
Favela entered the final round sharing the lead with Echenique, who fell well off the pace with three bogeys over his first four holes.
Favela, meanwhile, traded three bogeys with three birdies over his first 10 holes to remain at 13-under.
The leaders' troubles allowed Ledesma to race into contention, as the Argentinean posted four birdies and an eagle during his bogey-free round to claim the clubhouse lead at 13-under.
The tournament looked to be headed for a playoff when Favela countered a birdie at the 15th with a bogey at the 17th, but he was able to bounce right back with a birdie at the last to claim the 1-stroke victory.
