Brewers P Peralta leaves with hamstring injury

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Wily Peralta exited Tuesday's game in the sixth inning against the Washington Nationals due to a left hamstring injury.

The right-handed rookie was mowing down the Nats, having allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out five over 5 1/3 scoreless frames, but had to have the trainers come out to examine his left leg on two occasions during his at-bat against Ryan Zimmerman.

After the second trip to the mound, Peralta left the field under his own power and John Axford took over trying to keep the game scoreless.

Peralta came in with a 5.58 ERA and a 5-9 record in his first 17 starts of the year.
