Indians avoid arbitration with Outman

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians and reliever Josh Outman have agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Outman, who was eligible for salary arbitration, compiled a 3-0 record with a 4.33 earned run average in 61 relief appearances with Colorado last season. The left-hander was traded by the Rockies to the Indians in December for outfielder Drew Stubbs.

Over 121 major league games (32 starts) with Oakland and Colorado, Outman has posted a 12-11 record with a 4.61 ERA.
