MLB wants to eliminate home plate collisions

Lake Buena Vista, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Home plate collisions may become a thing of the past.

Major League Baseball's playing rules committee has voted to eliminate those type of plays at the plate, although an exact definition has not been determined.

Safety of both the runner and catcher was at the forefront of the decision, which must still be approved by owners and the union.
