Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves slugged three home runs off Trevor Cahill and completed a three-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 6-2 victory on Sunday at Turner Field.
Freddie Freeman homered for the second straight day, blasting a three-run shot to break a 1-1 tie in the third. Brian McCann added a solo homer and Dan Uggla contributed a two-run blast to Atlanta's fifth win in six games.
Paul Maholm (9-6) worked an efficient 6 2/3 innings, yielding just a pair of runs on two double-play balls from Paul Goldschmidt. He scattered eight hits, two walks and struck out three in the victory.
The struggles continued for Cahill (3-10), who lost his sixth straight decision. He was on the hook for all six runs, walking four and allowing seven hits in just 4 1/3 frames.
