Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Reds have made a qualifying contract offer on Monday to free agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo.

Choo has seven days to accept the deal, but can still re-sign with the Reds if he rejects the $14.1 million offer. If he rejects and signs with another team, Cincinnati will receive a compensation pick in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft in between the first and second rounds.

In 154 games with Cincinnati last season, Choo batted .285 with 21 home runs and 54 runs batted in. His 112 walks were a career-high and led to a .423 on- base-percentage, which ranked fourth best in all of baseball.

The 31-year-old South Korean has hit .288 over nine seasons with Seattle, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, totaling 104 home-runs and 427 RBI with a .389 on- base-percentage.

The Reds chose not to make qualifying offers to pitchers Bronson Arroyo, Zach Duke, Nick Masset, and Manny Parra, as well as infielder Cesar Izturis.
