If you missed out on your waiver wire this week in getting Tim Tebow, Carson Palmer, Matt Cassel or Colt McCoy, go ahead and grab John Beck. With Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tom Brady, Eli Manning and Michael Vick leading the charge of quarterbacks that are on byes this week, Beck has a pretty favorable match up to help ease your pain.

Despite having the NFL's 11th ranked pass defense (219 YPG), four of the six QBs Carolina's faced have scored at least 19 fantasy points. Blaine Gabbert (9.8) and Jay Cutler (2.3) were the only ones to falter.

In fact, Beck, if he remains the starters for the next month or so, could be in line for some decent numbers altogether. In addition to Carolina this week, he gets some of the most favorable teams against fantasy QBs in the NFL. Buffalo (23rd), San Francisco (17th), Miami (31st) and Dallas (18th) are all in the bottom half of the league against QBs, allowing at least 18 fantasy points per game.

Beck played 22 snaps in relief of Rex Grossman against Philadelphia. In those 22 plays, he was 8 of 15 for 117 yards, was sacked once, did not turn the ball over and scored a rushing touchdown. So in 22 snaps, he registered 12.08 fantasy points. He would have been on pace to score 33 fantasy points had he played all 60 of the Redskins' offensive snaps.

Of course the Redskins were playing from behind and Beck came in late in the game, but he still has a decent stable of pass-catching running backs, a tight end in Fred Davis that has the job all by his lonesome thanks to Chris Cooley's finger injury and a receiving corps that is a bunch of no names, but has yard after catch ability.

You could do better than Beck, but you could also do worse. So if you missed on the waiver wire, are in dire need of a QB or just want to take a flier for a QB with a favorable schedule, Beck is worth the add to your fantasy roster.
