Berea, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Browns agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver Miles Austin on Thursday.
Austin recorded just 24 catches for 244 yards in 11 games last season for the Dallas Cowboys, his eighth with the franchise that signed him out of Monmouth in 2006.
Over 106 NFL games, Austin has accumulated 301 receptions for 4,481 yards and 34 touchdowns. The 29-year-old New Jersey native will look to regain form from his career-defining campaigns of 2009-10, when he combined for 150 grabs, 2,361 yards and 18 TDs.
The signing is an insurance policy against the potential season-long loss of wideout Josh Gordon in the wake of his testing positive for marijuana last week.
In addition, Cleveland inked wide receiver Earl Bennett and defensive lineman Elhadji Ndiaye.
Bennett, a 27-year-old Vanderbilt product, posted 32 receptions for 243 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games last season.
Over 78 games in six NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears, Bennett has collected 185 catches for 2,277 yards and 12 scores.
