Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy announced on Wednesday that Matt Flynn will start at quarterback on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions.
Flynn led Green Bay to 16 unanswered fourth-quarter points to force overtime and finished with 218 yards and a touchdown on 21-of-36 passing in relief of Scott Tolzien last week.
Tolzien was making his second straight start in place of injured starter Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers was hoping to play this week, but he's not ready after suffering a fractured left collarbone against Chicago on Nov. 4.
Green Bay currently sits just behind both the Lions and Bears for first place in the NFC North with a 5-5-1 record.
