Uh-oh Chicago fans; it looks like another Jay Cutler uproar could be blowing through the Windy City this week.

The controversial quarterback and reality show “star” Kristin Cavallari called off their engagement in July, but his presence in Los Angeles on Monday night is causing quite the stir. First, Cutler was in the audience for “Dancing with the Stars”, where Cavallari is one of the participants. Additionally, TMZ snapped a photo of the Bears’ signal caller sporting salmon-colored pants and holding hands with the former MTV vixen. It may all sound like no big deal, but given Cutler’s aloof history there could be cause for concern.

The Bears currently stand at 2-2, while NFC North-rivals Green Bay and Detroit are 4-0. Chicago hits the road this week for Monday Night Football, where the upstart Lions await. It will truly be a Motor City Madhouse at Ford Field, and Lovie Smith’s team cannot afford to fall to 2-3 while letting Detroit get to 5-0. That’s what makes Cutler’s SoCal excursion even more interesting.

The Bears used the ground game to beat Carolina on Sunday, but Cutler finished the game with a passer rating of 46.7. He has completed less than 50 percent of his passes over the last three games. Can he work on improving while also being celebrity boyfriend? Time will tell.

Cutler was heavily criticized after his “disappearing act” against the Packers in the NFC Championship Game loss last season. Much of the criticism was probably unwarranted due to an injury, but perception can also be reality with sports fans. If the Bears go on a winning streak and make the postseason, the off-the-field stuff will be forgotten. But if the Bears follow a division-winning season with missing the Playoffs, there will be plenty of talk in Chicago about Cutler and his mindset.
