This team has major issues across the board, and it begins with their dress code. The newly redesigned uniforms are actually better than the previous version, but the multi-colored helmet is bordering on silly. The colors won't ever be great, and this uniform may always scream "expansion."
Female fashionista says:"If you want to use two colors on the helmet, which I wouldn't, there needs to be more of a gradient."
The road uniform pictured here isn't all that bad, but the home look is borderline atrocious. The logo is one of the worst, the dark blue on light blue is painful to the eye and there is no general link to the city or state other than the three subtle stars in the logo.
Female fashionista says:"It looks like a practice uniform. It feels like they need to pick a blue and stick with it — it's a Code Blue emergency, if you will."
The orange creamsicle uniforms had to go, and the adjustment was a step in the right direction. However, there is still a heavy cartoon element to the Bucs brand — both in the wardrobe and the stadium.
Female fashionista says:"I just want to know, is that a shade of bronze? Pewter pants on a grown man make me nervous. But I do like the Bucs' flag."
This uniform is a weird marriage of old- and new-school looks. The helmet looks like it was designed in the 1980s, while the uniform has tons of new styling and trim. The Cards need to pick one angle to play and stick with it.
Female fashionista says:"Well, at least, the white trim can be slimming for the D-Line. I'm not a fan of the capped-sleeve look."
The color alone makes it tough to take this team seriously. The trim needs to be updated, and the look needs an overhaul. This team needs to go all in with the new types of styles and stay committed to it because they will never look traditional. The Panther black accent is the lone connection to the team's identity.
Female fashionista says: "Bright turquoise? They need to be a little more fierce if they are the Panthers."
Miami launched its new uniforms this season, and they have been met with both positive and negative feedback. They seem simpler, cleaner, more streamlined and smoother. However, they seem to be featuring a new color scheme with slight tweaks to both the orange and aqua colors.
Female fashionista says:"I don't feel like the new uniform is true to the historic team colors — less orange and more blue than green."
The uniform the Vikes wore on opening weekend was fantastic (matte helmets, purple pants and white jerseys), but the changes made a few years ago to update the uniform made them entirely too busy.
Female fashionista says:"Always a fan of the royal purple and gold, and the logo on the helmet makes them look faster. There is a lot going on, though."
The logo is one of the NFL's worst, and the color scheme is bizarre to say the least. That being said, the pants are solid and aren't too busy, while the team has done its best to make purple and black look good.
Female fashionista says:"The white collar trim is more pronounced on the purple, making the NFL logo look like a little league medal. I don't like the number font."
The wings on the helmet, the Eagle head on the sleeve and the "Eagles" on the chest scream 1990s, but at least the rest of the gear is fairly simple and straightforward. The color scheme is solid, maybe even better than the Kelly Green patterns of yesteryear.
Female fashionista says:"I'd rather see the Eagles' official logo on the helmet rather than the angel wings. It's just a normal uniform, but the helmet is the scariest part."
The Orange Crush uniforms from the '70s and '80s needed to go. The remake of the '90s and '00s wasn't all that great but was ahead of its time in terms of design work and trim. They have progressively gotten better (more traditional, less busy) since the redesign of the late 1990s.
Female fashionista says: "The numbers are retro, which I don't like. That should be saved for throwbacks. But I do like the orange and blue trim on the pants."
The Bengals have never really had a great-looking uniform, so making edgy new changes was probably a wise call. There is a ton going on with these, but the colors and patterns are extremely true to the Bengals brand.
Female fashionista says: "Too many stripes in too many places going too many directions. I want to see more orange. I like the home versions much better than the roads."
The fan base seems to be split on the "new" Rams uniform as compared to the old-school yellow and blue look of past decades. Color scheme change aside, the uniform as a whole isn't overly busy and works fairly well.
Female fashionista says: "The swirling helmet logo makes me dizzy. I like the subtle design work on the pants. Gold is a little more muted than I'd like, but it's better than the old-school yellow."
The Falcons red and black has gone through many changes over the years, at times featuring the black more ('80s-'90s), but the uniforms are geared more toward the red these days. They are extremely busy with loads of extra trim and design work. Almost too much.
Female fashionista says:"The black stripe on the sleeve chops up the ideal broad-shoulder look. It almost looks like a soccer uniform."
As a huge fan of the '70s and '80s old-school white and red-heavy look, I think the relatively newer look from New England misses a bit. The red has all but disappeared, while the white seems to have been replaced.
Female fashionista says:"There is too much silver and gray for this uniform to match the patriotic theme of red, white and blue."
The team took a big step forward when it changed the helmets from blue to white a few years ago — matching up with their look from the '70s. All of the colors pop off the screen for this team, much more so than the teams in the '90s.
Female fashionista says:"You'd think this color scheme would work better for the Patriots. I dig the detail work on the stripe of the pants. The Bills logo remains strong."
The Texans look is muted and more dull on purpose, and it works for them. The logo matches the brand and the state of Texas, while the colors do the same. These are no-frill unis that match the personality of the fanbase.
Female fashionista says: "I'd like to see the iconic star of Texas incorporated more into the uniforms. However, with those colors, these aren't very unique."
This franchise has done a great job of matching its brand with the rest of the pro teams in Seattle. The colors across all pro sports in the city are matching, and if a team wants to go nouveau-chic, this is a the perfect example of how to do it.
Female fashionista says: "You know instantly what you are looking at. The uniforms' unique overall look matches the culture of the fans and city."
The Lions have long featured a simple look but updated their style a few years ago by adding all sorts of black trim and moving parts on the pants and shoulders. They are a classic franchise with a new look that works for some — while others still like the old look.
Female fashionista says: "A classic iconic helmet. I like the blue and silver, as white and silver don't work as well together."
Unchanging. Simple. Historic. Traditional. These uniforms don't look like they have changed in decades, and the fans like it that way. The look is plain and simple, and that is what this old-school fan base likes.
Female fashionista says:"There really is no mascot or logo, but this is one of the few teams that it works for. They are so old-school retro that it's new-school cool."
The yellow pants are a new look, while the maroon and white are still very classic. There is no way anyone would confuse this team with any other NFL franchise. It has very unique color scheme.
Female fashionista says:"I love the maroon jerseys, as they are an excellent representation of the brand. It's just a solid look overall."
Few logos or uniforms in any sport marry the town and culture with the team like the Saints with New Orleans. The color scheme and general design work match perfectly with the lifestyle and brand image of the Louisiana culture.
Female fashionista says:"Few teams are as closely aligned as the Saints uniform/logo and the city it represents. I am a huge fan of the matte black pants."
The Jets uniforms looked horrible for many, many years during the '70s, '80s and '90s. But when the team reverted back to the retro look of the 1950s and '60s, they hit a home run. The logo, green color and shoulder trim are excellent.
Female fashionista says:"Another example of a classic uniform with great colors and design, but it's a little lackluster. You can't go wrong with stripes and solids."
This team hasn't changed its look, color scheme or design in decades. The classic black and silver pattern may never change. The fans embrace the identity of the logo and uniform unlike any other fan base in the NFL.
Female fashionista says:"White and silver never works with the exception of the Raiders. Both home and road uniforms are no frills."
Chicago's classic look has had some small and subtle changes over the years but has never departed too far from its original roots. The navy blue is really dark, and the orange is muted. Few uniforms match the city with the team and mascot like the Bears.
Female fashionista says:"The colors and logo offer fans awesome apparel opportunities. Navy and orange will always be crisp on a green field."
The Packers have some of the worst throwbacks in the NFL, but the unchanging Green and Gold of Green Bay will never go out of style. And how many teams have their primary color in the name of their city?
Female fashionista says: "Green and Gold aren't always a miss, but these two shades don't seem to mesh well. Having said that, it doesn't really matter, because the uniform is so engrained with the fanbase."
The overhaul this uniform received a few years ago was outstanding. The logo was changed, the matte pants were added and the red got a bigger push in the alternates. This is a classic look that has returned to its old-school roots.
Female fashionista says:"The Giants have some of my favorite helmets. The colors are classic and quintessential. The red alternates are great as well."
It doesn't get much better or more traditional than the Niners get-ups. The red tops remain one of the more classic looks with few accents and little to no trim at all. The logo, color scheme and culture of the city all match up perfectly with the 49ers gear.
Female fashionista says:"They are very plain, and some like that. There's nothing too distracting about them. The gold is a perfect fit for this franchise."
It's America's team for a reason. The star emblem is the best in the NFL, and the uniform is one of the most distinguished in all of pro sports, not just the football field. And because they wear white at home, the navy blue tops rarely come out each season.
Female fashionista says: "I love the solid white and blue-ish pants. When you see that star on the helmet, you know exactly who you are looking at. I even like the navy blues."
The logo is great. The color scheme is unique and simple. The design is classic and clean. There is nothing bad about this uniform other than its win-loss record. The city loves this team and is passionately committed to the brand of one of the oldest teams in the NFL.
Female fashionista says: "I am a big fan of the yellow trim in all areas. The overall clean look of the uniform is very straightforward and attractive."
The AFC version of the Packers is a little edgier than the NFC's version. The black and gold embodies the spirit of the Steel City, while the helmets are uniquely one-sided.
Female fashionista says: "The black and yellow are striking together, and the black numbers pop. The hard-nosed nature of the team is on display with these unis."
Clean and classic with no frills, extra trim or third colors. The Colts uniforms are simple and unchanging, and that is what makes them great. The logo is nearly perfect, and the team embraces the identity of its franchise.
Female fashionista says: "The only complaint I have is that there is no accent color of any kind to catch the eye. The blue and white pattern looks good on the field."
The entire Chargers wardrobe isn't necessarily the best in the NFL, but the powder blue Super Chargers might be the best in all of sports. The look stems from the earliest days of San Diego football and looks very similar (but better) than the UCLA Bruins blue and gold look.
Female fashionista says:"I'm not even sure what's so great about this uniform but it just works and I love it. The color scheme defies logic, but it's great."
