Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David plays hard, works harder

Lavonte David, 26, has worked hard to get where he is today. A two-star recruit from Miami’s mythical national championship-winning Northwestern High School, David went to Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College — where he lost to Cam Newton in the NJCAA national title game — before becoming a two-time All-American at Nebraska and second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last season, David earned a trip to the Pro Bowl and a five-year, $50.25-million contract extension. We caught up with the outside linebacker to talk fitness and, of course, football.
