The SEC was home to some of college football’s top quarterbacks in the nation last year. However, one offseason later, and the conference is essentially rebuilding from scratch at the quarterback spot.

The list of names departing is heavy: Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel, Alabama’s AJ McCarron, LSU’s Zach Mettenberger, Missouri’s James Franklin, South Carolina’s Connor Shaw and Georgia’s Aaron Murray.

Georgia safety Josh Harvey-Clemons was dismissed from the team on Tuesday due to a violation of team rules.

Harvey-Clemons was already slated to miss the first three games of 2014 due to a suspension, but coach Mark Richt decided to dismiss the safety permanently this week.

Harvey-Clemons was regarded as a five-star prospect by Scout.com in the 2012 signing class. He played in 14 games as a freshman, recording 14 tackles and one pass breakup.

Jeremy Pruitt was one of the 2013 coaching carousel’s top coordinator hires and was a key piece in Florida State’s national title run. However, he won’t return to Tallahassee in 2014, as Pruitt has been named as the defensive coordinator at Georgia.

Pruitt is a rising star in the coaching ranks, spending 2007-12 on Alabama’s staff as an assistant under Nick Saban. Prior to his stint with the Crimson Tide, Pruitt worked at Hoover High School in Alabama.
