San Diego Fleet Roster (AAF Football)

Offensive whiz Mike Martz is back on a pro football sideline

San Diego rejoice! Thanks to the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), you once again have a professional football team to cheer for. After the NFL's Chargers bolted (no pun intented) for Los Angeles in 2017, it set off some alarms in Southern California. Concerns ranging from the fate of SDCCU Stadium, to the potential diminishing of San Diego as a viable sports market all ran rampant until now.

The Fleet now look to reestablish San Diego's place in the football spectrum. With respected play-caller Mike Martz calling the shots, the Fleet's roster is prepared to carry out Martz's vision for success in 2019. Like other AAF teams, there are plenty of players that are no strangers to the area. For the Fleet, there are eight former San Diego State Aztecs, a group led by tight end Gavin Escobar, a second-round pick (47th overall) in the 2013 NFL Draft. Escobar will catch passes from Fleet quarterback Mike Bercovici, who played at Arizona State from 2011-15.
