Tom Brady, Chris Godwin, Alvin Kamara Best Prop Bets and Odds for Monday Night Football

Player prop bets to make for Monday night’s divisional game between the Buccaneers and Saints.

The Saints face the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on Monday night in a prime-time divisional game.

Tampa Bay won 20-10 when these teams met earlier this season in New Orleans and is favored by a little more than a field goal on its home field. With the NFC South race so tight, this matchup carries a lot of weight in terms of playoff positioning. There are stars lining up for both offenses, but the defense is the backbone of both teams, which also explains this low point total.

Below are three player prop bets to target in this matchup.

Chris Godwin Over 67.5 Receiving Yards (-125)

Godwin posted his best stat line of the season in a loss last week to the Browns. Tom Brady threw his way 13 times and the duo connected 12 times for 110 yards and a score — all season highs. Godwin has topped this total in three of his last four games while Mike Evans’ yardage has dipped.

Godwin did not play in the first meeting against New Orleans and tore his ACL in the second game of the season against the Saints last year. But the last time he completed a game in this heated rivalry, he finished with 140 yards on eight catches. New Orleans defends the pass well, but top cornerback Marshon Lattimore could be preoccupied with Evans in this matchup.

Tom Brady Under 273.5 Passing Yards (-120)

Brady has not gone over this total in either of his last two games and New Orleans has the seventh-best pass defense in the NFL. When these teams played earlier in the year, he threw for a season-low 190 yards and completed just over half of his passes. Brady also struggled against the Saints last season in a 9-0 shutout loss — he finished with 214 yards on 48 pass attempts.

With Leonard Fournette back in the lineup along with rookie Rachaad White, Tampa Bay might be able to lean on its league-worst rushing attack against the Saints, who aren’t as stout against the run. Either way, this matchup has given Brady fits since he put on a Buccaneers uniform and in a down year that trend should continue.

Alvin Kamara Over 0.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+390)

Kamara has just three total touchdowns on the year (two through the air) and they all came in the same week. That’s why he has such long odds to score against Tampa Bay’s tough defense, along with the fact that the Saints were shut out last week against the 49ers, in part due to two Kamara fumbles.

New Orleans will need to get creative to get back in the end zone and that could involve using its talented, versatile back in the passing game. A few weeks ago, Seahawk running back Kenneth Walker III had six catches for 55 against the Buccaneers. He didn’t get in the end zone, but at such long odds, Kamara is a decent bet to break the plane.
