Las Vegas Raiders Bests Bets, Team Futures and Player Props

Start 'em, Sit 'em Week 11: Derek Carr

The Raiders are one of the most bet-on teams heading into the regular season.

Training camps are in full swing, and it’s time to get in on the NFL betting action! Looking into team futures, here are three bets to make on the Las Vegas Raiders for 2022.

Last season the Raiders stormed their way to 10 wins and a playoff berth. This year, they added arguably the best receiver in the league in Davante Adams. Sure, it’s a tough pathway in the stacked AFC West, but, after 13 seasons as the Patriots' offensive coordinator, new head coach Josh McDaniels is accustomed to winning.

Raiders Best Bets

  • Darren Waller OVER 5.5 receiving touchdowns (-120) on DraftKings.
  • OVER 8.5 wins (-125) on SI Sportsbook
  • Derek Carr OVER 29.5 passing touchdowns (-120) on Draftkings

Yes, the Raiders added a major red zone threat with Davante Adams, but that only opens up more opportunities for tight end Darren Waller who previously filled the role of the number one receiver for Derek Carr. Waller missed six games last season due to injury but is fully healthy to start camp. He’s primed for some positive touchdown regression after converting only two of his 10 opportunities in 2021. He’s a big-bodied, perfect end zone target.

Derek Carr ended 2021 with the fifth-most passing yards (4804), but only a 3.7 percent touchdown rate. He finished with  23 touchdowns. However, Carr was without Darren Waller for half the season. Surely that touchdown total increases with Davante Adams in town. If we are betting on the Raiders exceeding this win total, we are betting on Carr finding the end zone. With Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Russell Wilson in the division, there are bound to be a lot of shootouts. Carr has only exceeded this prop once in his eight years in the NFL, but this year he has the best weapons of his career.
