NFL Betting Guide for Week 2: Bank on This Three-Team Teaser

Our sports betting insider reveals his three-team teaser for Week 2 and it offers a solid return without much risk.

In Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season, home teams were only marginally profitable for bettors posting a 9-7 (56 percent) against the spread (ATS) mark. Sharp bettors in Vegas over the last several seasons have begun to heavily invest in NFL teaser wagers.

In this type of investment, bettors are afforded the opportunity to use several (two or more) teams combined into one "exotic bet," shifting the line in your favor. There are three main NFL teaser offerings readily available at every sportsbook: 6, 6.5 and 7 points. The more points you use on the teaser the lower the payout will be, however, the more teams you include in the teaser bet the higher the payout will be.

In Week 2, we will target three road teams moving the odds through several prime football betting numbers (3,7,10).

In the first leg of our 7-point teaser investment, we will target the Dolphins heading into Baltimore to face off with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. After earning a solid 20-7 win in the opening week over New England, Miami will look to improve upon their solid 5-2-1 ATS road underdog record. We will push Miami from 3.5 road 'dogs up to 10.5 gaining double-digit points on a team that is easily one of the most "live" underdogs on the Sunday slate.

Carson Wentz looked solid in his Commanders debut throwing for 313 yards and four touchdowns in the victory over the Jaguars. It is simply too hard not to fade a Lions club that has not been favored by oddsmakers since Week 15 of the 2020 season. In our favor, Washington boasts a 7-2-1 ATS (78 percent) in their last 10 games dating back to 2021. In the second leg of this wager, we will push the Commanders up from a 1.5-point underdog through several prime numbers up to plus 8.5.

The final leg of our teaser will look to target a game with a major injury to one of the best players in the league. Due to the injury to Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott (thumb), oddsmakers made a dramatic move flipping the Cowboys from a 1.5-point home favorite to a 7.5-point home underdog against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Cincinnati, who is 8-1 ATS over their last nine games (including playoffs), will bounce back in a big way against a Cooper Rush-led Cowboys squad. Instead of needing to cover a 7.5-point spread all we need is an outright win by the Bengals shaving the spread down to just minus a half of a point.
