Through six weeks of the 2022 NFL season, underdogs continue to lead the way posting a 53-38-3 ATS (56.4 percent) against the spread (ATS) record.
Due to the unpredictability of NFL games this season, sharp bettors in Vegas continue to heavily invest in teaser wagers, looking to manipulate point spreads.
In Week 7, we will follow their lead backing two underdogs and one home favorite.
In this type of investment, bettors are afforded the opportunity to use several (two or more) teams combined into one “exotic bet”, shifting the line in your favor. There are three main NFL teaser offerings readily available at every sportsbook: 6, 6.5 and 7 points. The more points you use on the teaser the lower the payout will be, however the more teams you include in the teaser bet the higher the payout will be.
After hitting on our exotic wager at odds of +130 in Week 4, we came up short in Week 5, but came right back to cash once again in Week 6!
Let’s look to continue our winning ways in Week 7!
NY Giants +9.5 vs. Jaguars
In the first leg of our 6.5-point teaser investment, we will target the Giants heading down to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. After getting off a 2-1 start with upset wins over the Colts and Chargers, Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have dropped three consecutive games. New York, who is 5-1 SU and ATS to start the year, will face a Jacksonville squad that is a paltry 3-11 ATS (21 percent) over its last 14 games dating back to last season. Instead of only getting a field goal of points, in this wager we push Big Blue up to +9.5 against a Jaguars team that is a disappointing 4-9 ATS over their last 13 TIAA Bank Field.
NY Jets +7.5 vs. Denver
In the middle leg of a ticket, we will head to Empower Field at Mile High for the matchup between the Jets and Broncos. Zach Wilson, who is 3-0 SU and ATS on the season, improved to 7-3 ATS (70 percent) over his last 10 starts following the upset win over Green Bay at Lambeau in Week 6. Instead of needing to win straight-up, we will instead push the red-hot Jets squad up to 7.5-point road underdogs against a struggling Broncos club. Russell Wilson and the Broncos who lost three consecutive games both SU and ATS are also 0-3 ATS at home this season.
Miami Dolphins -0.5 vs. Pittsburgh
In the final leg of a ticket, we will head to Miami for the Sunday night showdown between the Dolphins and Steelers. Pittsburgh, who is 2-6 ATS over their last eight road games, will encounter a Dolphins squad that is 7-2 ATS over their last nine home games at Hard Rock Stadium. Tua Tagovailoa has fully cleared concussion protocol and is expected to return as the team's starter against Pittsburgh under the bright lights of Sunday night football. Instead of needing to win by more than a touchdown, we will instead need to just win the game straight up after dropping Miami down to a half-point favorite.
