Week 14 in the NFL finds six teams on bye leaving many of the teams in action jockeying for playoff berths.
After Thursday night’s shocking upset of the Raiders by the Rams, underdogs continue to lead the way posting a 104-86-6 Against The Spread (54.7 percent).
Sharp bettors in Vegas continue to heavily invest in teaser wagers, looking to manipulate point spreads. On Sunday, we will back four teams with playoff aspirations that own a combined record of 36-12 (.750) at odds of +200.
In this type of investment, bettors are afforded the opportunity to use several (two or more) teams combined into one “exotic bet”, shifting the line in your favor. There are three main NFL teaser offerings readily available at every sportsbook: 6, 6.5 and 7 points. The more points you use on the teaser the lower the payout will be, however the more teams you include in the teaser bet the higher the payout will be.
Eagles Pick Em vs. Giants
Bettors have not been able to capitalize on Philadelphia’s 5-0 SU start away from Lincoln Financial Field this season as the Eagles have failed to cover against the spread in four of those contests (1-4 ATS). However, in the first leg of our ticket, we will ride the Eagles' road winning streak by pushing the ‘Birds down to the equivalent of a money-line wager against a Giants squad that has only won one of their last five games (1-4-1 SU).
Cowboys -10.5 vs Texans
Dallas, who is 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS at AT&T Stadium this season, will face a Texans squad that has lost seven consecutive games as well as 10 of 11 (1-10-1 SU) overall. Houston, who ranks 31st in scoring (15.7) per game, simply does not have enough weapons to keep pace with Dak and the ‘Boys. The Texans are also expected to be without both starting wideouts Brandin Cooks (calf) and Nico Collins (foot). Instead of having to lay more than three scores, in this wager we will bring the Cowboys down to a 10.5-point demand.
Titans +3 vs Jaguars
Tennessee, who is 8-2 ATS over their last 10 games, head home to Nissan Stadium to face a Jaguars club that is 2-7 SU and 2-6-1 ATS over their last nine games. The Titans, who have won five consecutive games over their AFC South rival, are 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS over the last 10 meetings. Trevor Lawrence (foot/toe) has been limited in practice this week, so keep an eye on his status. Derrick Henry has rushed for 525 yards and scored seven touchdowns in his last four games against Jacksonville. In the third leg of this ticket, we will make the Titans 3-point home underdogs.
In the final leg of a ticket we will target the AFC West showdown between the Chiefs and Broncos. Kansas City, despite winning seven of its last 10 games (7-3 SU), has burned bettors posting a dismal 2-7-1 ATS mark. Russell Wilson and the Broncos, who have lost four straight games as well as eight of their last nine (1-8 SU), have only covered the spread in three of those contests (3-6 ATS). Instead of needing to lay the near double-double point spread being demanded by oddsmakers (-9), we will drive Patrick Mahomes down through several prime numbers and lay less than a field goal.
