Coach K Utilizes Secret Twitter to Monitor Players

In order to check on his player's social media behavior, Coach K follows them under an alias.

Athletes often love social media, especially Twitter, because it gives them a platform to speak upon to their millions of fans. They can interact with others, and it gives a way to broadcast to a large audience whenever. However, there are also plenty of negatives, including backlash and everybody trying to give advice. That is exactly why Coach K of Duke has made his Twitter account secret, under an alias.

Mike Krzyzewski is definitely 'On Top of the Game.'

There's no denying Mike Krzyzewski built Duke into the basketball power that it is today.

10 College Rivalries Killed by Conference Realignment

Please, please, please bring back these classic rivalries
10 college rivalries ended by conference realignment

Thanksgiving hasn’t been the same since the Texas A&M and Missouri started hanging out with the SEC. Or since West Virginia and Pitt started rolling with the Big 12 and ACC, respectively.

Conference realignment ended a handful of traditional rivalries, either because of scheduling conflicts or acrimonious relationships.

In other words, no more Texas-Texas A&M. No more Backyard Brawl. No more Border War.

The stories and numbers behind one of the giants of college basketball
Remembering Legendary North Carolina coach Dean Smith

Dean Smith is one of the rare figures and perhaps the only figure who directly connects the birth of basketball to its modern era.

Smith played at Kansas for Phog Allen, the “Father of Basketball Coaching” who played for the inventor of the game, James Naismith. Smith then coached Michael Jordan. From Naismith to Allen to Smith to Jordan, it would be hard to find a better connection from the infancy of basketball to the modern game.

College Basketball Game Preview and Prediction: Duke vs. Virginia

Strange times are afoot in the ACC.

The Tobacco Road power structure in the league may still command ratings and attention, but it hasn’t yielded a league regular season or tournament championship since 2012.

The reigning champion Virginia is in prime position to extend that drought for another year.

Duke, coming off a loss to Notre Dame, now sits in a tie for sixth in the conference at 4-3 in the league. Meanwhile, Virginia sits alone atop the standings at 7-0 in the conference and 19-0 overall.

Coach K’s 1,000th win was the headline of the college basketball week, but what might have been missed was Duke’s role in another trend.

The Blue Devils were one of four ranked teams to overcome a 10-point deficit on the road. Virginia did it against Virginia Tech. So did Northern Iowa did it against Illinois State.
