With the third weekend of the 2020 season in the books, it’s time to take a look at the best of the best and honor some of the top performances. Each week, Athlon Sports will highlight some of the top performers in college football with its weekly awards section. Here’s a look at Athlon Sports’ picks for the offensive, defensive, coordinator, team and freshman from Week 3:

Weekly college football top 25 rankings are a big part of every season, and Athlon Sports will update its top 25 following the games each weekend. The third weekend of the 2020 season was headlined by Miami's big road win at Louisville, Oklahoma State's comeback over Tulsa, UCF's victory at Georgia Tech and Louisiana's rally in overtime to beat Georgia State. Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma take the top four spots, with Florida at No. 5 and Georgia at No. 6 in the post-Week 3 top 25 rankings.

College football's 2020 season is underway, and action is set to continue into Week 4 with a full slate of matchups. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Week 4 slate is lighter than usual. However, the schedule is a little deeper this week, as the SEC officially starts its 2020 season. Week 4 features 35 matchups, and the action begins on Thursday night with UAB visiting South Alabama. Middle Tennessee travels to take on UTSA in the only Friday matchup for Week 4.

The 2021 NFL Draft is slated to take place in Cleveland, Ohio on April 29-May 1, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, college football players are already declaring their intent to jump early to the next level. As of Friday, Sept. 18, 34 underclassmen players have already declared for the 2021 NFL Draft and will not return to college for a fall or spring season. The list of names declared features projected first-round picks in Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons, Miami defensive end Gregory Rousseau and Minnesota receiver Rashod Bateman.

College football's 2020 season is underway, and Athlon Sports will rank every team following the games every weekend. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all 130 teams won't take the field this fall. Instead, 76 are set to play, while 54 are not planning on a fall season. Clemson, Alabama and Oklahoma headline the top 76 rankings after Week 2, with Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and Texas A&M up next. Cincinnati ranks as the projected top Group of 5 team this fall, but Louisiana makes a big jump in the top 25 after beating Iowa State.

College football's 2020 season has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 40 teams have already decided not to play in the fall and will hope to schedule a season in the spring. With the Big Ten's announcement on Sept. 16 to start its season on Oct. 24, 90 programs are trying to play a full schedule in the fall.
