If your team has an owner or owners who treat the fans with respect, be grateful.

If your team has an owner who spends within his/her/their means, but can still improve the team, enjoy it.

Oakland Athletics Mt. Rushmore

The A's Mt. Rushmore goes back further than the city of Oakland — like all the way to Philadelphia.

I am continuing the series of MLB Mt. Rushmores. The question was posed earlier this season whether Derek Jeter should be considered as part of the Yankees’ Mt. Rushmore. That certainly piqued my interest. Not really the Jeter-Yankees part, but the idea that all MLB teams should have their own Mt. Rushmores. Who are the four individuals that have risen above all others for each organization? The question sounds simple. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Let the arguments begin.

Major League Baseball is promoting an effort to identify the best four players in each team’s history. We selected our choices for Mt. Rushmores a few years ago. Here are updated versions for all 30 teams. Who are the four baseball players that have risen above all others for each organization? The question sounds simple, right? Not so fast. Let the arguments begin.

No one should envy the American League Cy Young voters this year.

I was trying to identify who the midseason candidates for the postseason awards have been for the past few years. Beginning with Cy Young, I looked at the All-Star Game starters. Not a great place, but generally the All-Star starters are at least in the discussion at the break for the Cy Young award.

While researching one subject on Baseball-Reference.com, one click leads to another, and 30 minutes later I've found myself thinking about players most fan have never heard of. Here's this week's click trail.

“You’ve got to spend money to make money.” It’s a phrase that’s made millions of businesspeople rich. It’s also a motto that’s had millions of others moving back in with their parents, or possibly into refrigerator boxes.
