Darlington Raceway is the site of this weekend's Goodyear 400, the perfect setting for NASCAR's annual Throwback Weekend. Here to preview the Cup Series' version of Halloween is Frontstretch.com's Zach Sturniolo.
NASCAR has had its share of bizarre race names through the years. Just this February, the sport's Xfinity Series kicked off its schedule with the Beef. It's What's For Dinner 300. But the Buschy McBusch Race 400 is easily the strangest twist on sponsorship in recent memory.
Richmond Raceway's 0.75-mile oval isn't your typical short track. In fact, you can say Sunday's Toyota Owners 400 (3 p.m. ET, FOX) will look more like a race at a track twice its size, located a few hours down the road: Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Years before this weekend's Food City Dirt Race, NASCAR racing on dirt tracks was the rule, not the exception. Seven of eight events in the sport's inaugural Cup Series season of 1949 were held on this track type. By the mid-1950s, that number rose to 40 and over a dozen dirt track events were on the schedule as late as 1967.
March Madness reigns supreme in the background of the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway (Sunday, 3:30 p.m. ET, FOX). But while college basketball Cinderellas take center stage in Indianapolis, NASCAR's top seeds should establish themselves up front at this 1.54-mile quad oval.
Las Vegas is the town of Cinderella stories born at midnight, a place where one roll of the dice turns the moneyless into millionaires. It's the type of rags-to-riches story that's defined NASCAR's 2021 season, Michael McDowell's Daytona 500 triumph sparking three straight first-time winners heading into this year's Pennzoil 400.
It's time for the third consecutive race in sunny Florida for the NASCAR Cup Series this season, this time at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Dixie Vodka 400 is set to air on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX and Joy Tomlinson from Frontstretch.com has your latest fantasy preview for NASCAR DraftKings.
One week after its biggest race, the Daytona 500, NASCAR heads back to the Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing to run the 2021 O'Reilly Auto Parts 253 on Daytona International Speedway's road course. It's the first time in history the sport has run back-to-back races at this track, a move necessitated by COVID-19 restrictions. Typically, the sport would be starting its West Coast swing but the pandemic forced a cancellation at Auto Club Speedway in California.
It's a new year but the same old complex qualifying mess for NASCAR when it comes to the 2021 Daytona 500. After both Duel qualifying races, the full 40-car field is locked in for the race (Sunday, 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX). But for new fans, the same question always comes up.
The AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 500 will mark the final intermediate track race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season. Texas Motor Speedway's 1.5-mile layout will host this 500-miler, the last cookie-cutter oval in the recipe to create this year's Championship 4.
