10 Oldest Players in NFL History

At 43 years, one month, and 10 days, Tom Brady became the oldest player in NFL history to score a touchdown when he carried the ball into the end zone against the Saints in Week 1. For the past several years, it has seemed that he could play as long as he wants. But now that the "oldest" distinctions are kicking in on a weekly basis, it is important to remember that Brady would need to play through at least 2021 if he is going to make some headway into the below list.

Big Game Hunting with Adam Vinatieri

Four-time Super Bowl champion Adam Vinatieri, 43, certainly knows a thing or two about big games.

The 20-year veteran kicker holds the NFL record for career postseason points scored (234) and has delivered time and again in high-pressure, high-profile situations. Vinatieri split the uprights on a 48-yard field goal to win Super Bowl XXXVI. Two years later, he won another Super Bowl by kicking a 41-yarder. The infamous “Tuck Rule” game? Won on a field goal by you-know-who.

Time to find a replacement for Sebastian Janikowski

It was being reported Friday that Sebastian Janikowski, fantasy football’s second-best kicker, may have to sit Sunday and several weeks thereafter due to a left hamstring injury.

It is not that often that fantasy kickers get any glory as we always tell you to wait until the last or second-to-last pick of your drafts to select the position. But Sebastian Janikowski brings what no other kicker in the league does on a consistent basis - the long ball. If your league awards bonus points for distance kicks, then Janikowski is the man to have. Through six weeks, he already has five 50-plus field goals and 12 field goals altogether.

Fantasy Football: Never Reach for the Kicker

History shows there's just no reason to go "early" on the kicker position

You read it, hear it, see it every season: Don't draft a kicker until you absolutely have to. Numbers don't lie. There's just no need to do it. Yet, people still do it. This draft season already, I've seen it happen with eight rounds to go, seven rounds to go, you name it.

Three rounds to go should be the absolute minimum and that is only if it is a deep roster and you've already filled out all the bench spots you can.

Here's why.
