10 Greatest NFL Quarterback Classes of All-Time

Eli Manning and his two Super Bowl victories headline a star-studded Class of 2004.

The Quarterback Class of 2012 is off to a fast start. Led by Indianapolis’ Andrew Luck, Washington’s Robert Griffin III and Seattle’s Russell Wilson, the Class of 2012 has a solid base to build on. But they have a long way to go to catch up with the greatest quarterback classes in NFL history.

Most drafts have one or two serviceable passers, the majority of these 10 had multiple Super Bowl caliber signal-callers:

The Detroit Lions host their traditional Thanksgiving Day game today, as they will take on the Houston Texans at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The opener of the NFL’s turkey day triple-header features a Lions team that’s lost two in a row and is almost in a must-win situation if it wants to keep its playoff hopes alive. On the other side are the Texans, who enter this game with an AFC-best 9-1 mark and a three-game lead over the Colts for first place in the AFC South.

Everything seems to be pointing toward Houston Texans quarterback Matt Leinart having a successful debut as the team’s starter in Week 13 at Jacksonville.

Leinart takes over for Matt Schaub, who went on injured reserve this week. He inherits a Texans team that has scored at least 24 points in their last four games — 37, 30, 24 and 41.

He has running back Arian Foster at his disposal along with the return of wide receiver Andre Johnson and tight end Owen Daniels.

The Houston Texans can't catch a break. Or maybe they're catching too many.

After suffering through injuries to seemingly all their star players, the news got even worse this week when head coach Gary Kubiak revealed that quarterback Matt Schaub has a Lisfranc foot injury. Which, for all you non-doctors out there, a Lisfranc injury is usually a fracture to one of the tarsas or metatarsals, which are basically the bones right behind the toes.
