Important dates for the entire tournament
This year's edition of March Madness, otherwise known as the 2019 NCAA men’s Division I basketball tournament, will officially commence with Selection Sunday on March 17. Once the field of 68 teams is revealed the games will begin with the "First Four" in Dayton, Ohio, on March 19-20.
The madness kicks up a notch with the first and second rounds from March 21-24. The field will get narrowed down even more the following week with the four regionals set to cover March 28-31. This year's Final Four will take place in Minneapolis on April 6 with the national champion to be determined on April 8.

Tuesday, March 19 & Wednesday, March 20 – First Four (Dayton, Ohio)
Thursday, March 21 & Saturday, March 23 – First and Second Rounds (Hartford, Conn.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Des Moines, Iowa; Salt Lake City)
Friday March 22 & Sunday, March 24 – First and Second Rounds (Columbia, S.C.; Columbus, Ohio; Tulsa, Okla.; San Jose, Calif.)
Thursday, March 28 & Saturday, March 30 – South (Louisville, Ky.) and West (Anaheim, Calf.) Regionals
Friday, March 29 & Sunday, March 31 – East (Washington, D.C.) and Midwest Regionals (Kansas City, Mo.)
Saturday, April 6 – Final Four (Minneapolis)
Monday, April 8 – National Championship (Minneapolis)
