Omaha, NE (SportsNetwork.com) - Doug McDermott finished with 33 points as the Creighton Bluejays rolled over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 82-67, in a non- conference bout at the CenturyLink Center Omaha.
McDermott connected on 12-of-23 field goal attempts and also collected eight rebounds for Creighton (7-2). Ethan Wragge added 16 points and nine boards before fouling out and Jahenns Manigat chipped in 10 points.
Shavon Shields netted 22 points and Terran Petteway put in 21 for Nebraska (6-3). Petteway and Creighton's Grant Gibbs were ejected from the game late in the second half after being called for double-flagrant fouls.
The Bluejays ran out to a 51-25 lead at halftime after hitting 54.8 percent of their field goal tries, including 7-of-16 from 3-point range, in the first half. Nebraska connected on only 30 percent from the field while making good on just one of its 12 attempts from 3-point distance.
After the break the Cornhuskers improved to 59.1 percent shooting but it wasn't enough to overcome the Bluejays, who knocked down 41.7 percent from the field and went 7-of-9 from the free-throw line to close out the victory.
Creighton outscored Nebraska by a 33-15 margin from beyond the arc.
