Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - James Milliken scored a game-high 18 points to help give the Creighton Bluejays a 75-62 win over the DePaul Blue Demons in Big East Conference action at Allstate Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Bluejays (13-15, 4-11 Big East) were Will Artino and Austin Chatman with 13 and 12 points, respectively, the former adding seven rebounds while hitting on all but one of his seven field goal tries. With the victory the Jays was their second in the last three outings.
The Blue Demons (12-17, 6-10), losers of five straight and eight of the last nine, were led by Forrest Robinson with 14 points off the bench, while Jamee Crockett posted 13 points and Rashaun Stimage 10, to go along with three blocked shots in the setback.
A 3-pointer by Crockett put the hosts up by two points less than two minutes into the contest, but from there the game belonged to Creighton as the Bluejays shot not only 50.0 percent from the field in the first half but also 6-of-11 behind the 3-point line, en route to a 34-27 advantage at the break.
After hitting on just 2-of-14 beyond the arc through the first 20 minutes of action, DePaul made good on 3-of-9 in the second half, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep Creighton from running away with the double-digit victory.
The Blue Demons connected on just 5-of-23 (.217) on the perimeter and were beaten on the glass by a 38-22 margin.
