Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - LaDontae Henton registered a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds as the Providence Friars crushed the DePaul Blue Demons, 84-57, in a Big East Conference contest at Allstate Arena.
Also logging a double-double for the Friars (19-8, 9-5 Big East) was Ben Bentil with 12 points and 10 boards, while Kris Dunn responded with 21 points, four boards, four assists and four steals as Providence secured a second straight win.
The Blue Demons (12-15, 6-8), losers of three straight and six of seven, were paced by Billy Garrett with 11 points, as he converted 9-of-10 at the free- throw line, followed by Jamee Crockett and RJ Curington with 10 points apiece.
DePaul led by as many as five points in the first half, but the host made a total of just seven field goals in the frame, allowing Providence to take a 41-26 advantage at the break.
After making good on 52.0 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes of action, the Friars improved to 53.6 percent as they cruised to the lopsided road victory.
Providence, which made only 1-of-9 behind the 3-point line on the night, forced 16 turnovers and outscored DePaul at the charity stripe, 27-16.
