Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jamee Crockett netted 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting as the DePaul Blue Demons coasted past the Seton Hall Pirates, 75-62, in a Big East Conference tilt at Allstate Arena.
Billy Garrett scored 20 points and dished out four assists for DePaul (12-12, 6-5 Big East), which ended a three-game losing streak. Myke Henry chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds in the win.
Sterling Gibbs poured in 21 points with five rebounds and four assists to lead Seton Hall (15-7, 5-5). Isaiah Whitehead chimed in with 14 points off the bench for the Pirates, who ended a two-game win streak.
DePaul connected on 48.5 percent of its shots in the first half, even though the team made just 1-of-11 from 3-point range, to take a slight 35-33 lead into the intermission. Seton Hall buried 44.8 percent of its attempts from the floor in the frame.
The Blue Demons improved to 53.8 percent shooting in the second period, and locked down the Pirates defensively, as Seton Hall hit just 23.8 percent of its shots in the half. DePaul held its largest lead - 13 points - at the final buzzer, and was able to survive 10 lead changes.
The hosts owned a 40-26 advantage in scoring in the paint, and won the battle in rebounding over Seton Hall, 37-27. The Pirates outscored DePaul from the free-throw line, 23-10.
