Huntington, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - Angelo Warner scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead his Morehead State Eagles over the Marshall Thundering Herd, 77-68, in non-conference action at the Cam Henderson Center.
Reserve Marquel Willis scored 11 points for the Eagles (3-4), while starters Kareem Storey and Karam Mashour each had 10 points and four assists. Mashour led the team in rebounds with nine.
Ryan Taylor had a double-double for Marshall (3-2) in the loss, as he tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds. Austin Loop and Shawn Smith each had 10 points.
Morehead State held a solid 50-37 lead over the Thundering Herd heading into halftime. The Eagles shot well in the first half, scoring on 56.7 percent of their field goal attempts.
Marshall wasn't able to cover much ground in the second half as the team made just 10-of-32 shots from the field, including just 3-of-16 3-point attempts.
Both teams had poor nights from the foul line, as the Eagles made only 53.6 percent of their free throws, and the Thundering Herd converted only 57.7 percent of their tries.
