Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Andre Hollins turned in 24 points as the Minnesota Golden Gophers handled the Montana Grizzlies, 84-58, at Williams Arena.
Andre Hollins shot 8-for-14 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free-throw line for the Gophers (2-0), while Austin Hollins recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. DeAndre Mathieu added 15 points and five assists in the convincing victory.
Kareem Jamar led the Grizzlies (0-1) with 18 points and six rebounds, but he could not get much help as none of his teammates tallied more than eight points.
Neither team shot greater than 39 percent from the floor in the first half, but the Gophers drained seven 3-pointers as they opened up a 40-26 lead at intermission.
The Gophers led by as many as 29 points in what was a one-sided contest from start to finish.
Minnesota dominated on the glass, outrebounding Montana, 45-29.
