Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Austin Hollins tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds as the Minnesota Golden Gophers made easy work of the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 75-59, in a non-conference affair at Williams Arena.
Elliott Eliason also tallied a double-double for Minnesota (9-2) with 10 points and 12 boards, DeAndre Mathieu netted 15 points and Andre Hollins chipped in eight points and eight assists.
For SDSU (4-7), Jordan Dykstra registered 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Chad White added 15 points.
Although Minnesota shot a modest 40.6 percent from the field in the first half, it was still able to take a 36-28 lead into intermission by holding SDSU to just 37 percent shooting.
The Gophers improved their field goal efficiency after haltime to 46.7 percent as their lead swelled to as many as 20.
Minnesota held a convincing advantage on the glass, outrebounding SDSU, 40-30. Fifteen of the Gophers' boards were of the offensive variety, which led to 15 second-chance points.
