Morgantown, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - Royce O'Neale tallied 22 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead the Baylor Bears to an 88-75 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers in a Big 12 Conference bout at WVU Coliseum.
Isaiah Austin finished with 19 points and seven blocks to help Baylor (18-9, 6-8 Big 12) to its fourth consecutive victory. Cory Jefferson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards, while Kenny Chery contributed 13 points, seven assists and six boards. Brady Heslip added 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.
Eron Harris led the Mountaineers (15-12, 7-7) with 32 points on 9-of-17 efficiency from the floor. Juwan Staten added 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Devin Williams grabbed nine boards for WVU.
The Mountaineers controlled the opening period as they knocked down 6-of-8 attempts from beyond the arc and converted 10-of-12 shots at the charity stripe en route to a 42-36 halftime lead. Baylor trailed despite shooting 57.1 percent from the floor in the first half.
The Bears stormed back after the break by hitting on 51.6 percent of their field goal tries including a 6-of-12 clip from behind the 3-point line. WVU was limited to 32.1 percent efficiency from the floor over the final 20 minutes of the contest.
Baylor outscored the Mountaineers, 38-12, in the paint.
